SEAT, S.A., is the only Spanish car manufacturer, and was founded in 1950. We develop and produce our range of high quality vehicles in Martorell, 30km outside Barcelona, and are active in more than 70 countries around the world.

Currently, around 11,000 employees work at SEAT, developing, producing and selling approximately 400,000 vehicles per year.

SEAT is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the German Volkswagen Group. That – and the fact that we are one of the youngest players on the European motoring scene – allows us to fuse our bold philosophies and methods with the resources and know-how of one of the most established vehicle manufacturers around.

The result? A new approach to car-making built on a solid base of specialised experience.

The goal? To fuse Spanish passion and German technology in cars close to perfection.

Inaugurated in 1993, our Martorell plant is the beating heart of the firm and one of the most advanced car production facilities in Europe. There, 7,000 people work in 13 buildings on morning, afternoon and night shifts, ensuring a daily production output of around 2,000 units.

Remains to say that we are in an exceptional position in Spain: With our Technical Centre on the same premises, we are the only car manufacturer in the country able to design, develop, produce and distribute our own vehicles in-house.

The SEAT range currently includes nine models: the new Ibiza, the Altea,
Altea XL and Altea Freetrack, the Leon, the Cordoba, the Alhambra, the Toledo and the new Exeo. Two thirds of our production are exported – mainly to Europe – but also to over seventy countries worldwide. Our strongest and most loyal market to date remains Spain.

By 2018 we aim to expand our vehicle range to up to 40 top quality products, and to increase our foothold in Eastern Europe. Watch out – just the right car for you is coming to a SEAT dealer near you soon!
