Bluetooth

Bluetooth technology allows electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops and personal digital assistants (PDAs) to connect wirelessly. When you activate Bluetooth in your car you can make hands-free calls, without taking your phone out of your pocket. It reroutes calls to your car's audio system when you are driving, automatically muting any music that is playing while you are speaking. You can also connect to music on your phone and some MP3 players. Some systems also have voice recognition built in. The connection exists as a radio link between the devices’ transmitting and receiving units. The data transfer takes place on a worldwide, royalty-free, transmission frequency of 2.4 GHz (Gigahertz) with a data transfer rate of up to one megabit per second. The transmitting power of the interface is 1 Watt which allows for a transmission range of around 10 meters - more than enough to link up devices inside a car. We offer factory fitted Bluetooth solutions providing safe, hands-free communications while driving. The low transmitting power enhances device security because it prevents “eavesdropping”. It’s also immune to interference from electromagnetic radiation.

To protect against interception of data during transfer, a ‘profile’ is created for each Bluetooth device. This profile consists of an assigned code, guaranteed to be globally unique, which devices can use to identify themselves when they want to communicate with each other. For added protection when transmitting, a 128-bit data encryption key is generated with each new operation.

We offer this modern and easy method of data transmission in many of our models. Check your phone compatibility to ensure successful connection is possible.
