Trailer Assist

Parking with a trailer attached to the rear of your car? Activate Trailer Assist via a switch on the central console. First, select which side of stationary traffic you would like to scan. When you drive by this area at a speed of up to 40 km/h with a lateral distance of 0.5 to 1.5 metres, the sensor will detect parking spots that are large enough to safely park both your car and its trailer. The spots must be at least 1.1 metres longer than the total length of your car, including the trailer. Once a suitable parking spot has been detected, a message will appear on the display in the central console. It will prompt you to enter your starting position so the parking process can begin.

To activate automatic steering control, engage the reverse gear. During automatic steering, you can take your hands off the wheel. You only need to accelerate and brake gently according to the acoustic prompts from the ultrasonic parking aid. Your car will automatically park in reverse, perfectly in line with the surrounding parked vehicles. Any other necessary parking manouevres depend on the size of the parking spot and will be communicated via the central display.

The system parks automatically in both parallel parking situations as well as in parking bays. You can also use it to exit a parallel parking spot. Naturally, you can stop or intervene in the automatic parking process at any time.
