Martorell, 17/11/2014. SEAT today has signed a collaboration agreement with Barcelona Global and is now a corporate patron partner of the association. SEAT Executive Committee President Jürgen Stackmann and Barcelona Global President Marian Puig signed the agreement in a steering board meeting held in the company’s facilities in Martorell.

Barcelona Global is a private, independent, city-based non-profit association made up of 71 companies and 300 professionals. The mission of the association is to actively contribute to making Barcelona one of the best cities in the world to attract talent and stimulate economic activity.

Jürgen Stackmann underlined the importance of this alliance for SEAT and Barcelona Global. “SEAT is Barcelona’s main industrial company and we are fully committed and connected to the city. For us, Barcelona is a source of inspiration and our cars capture its spirit. We are going to actively participate in Barcelona Global and contribute our know-how to the economic development of the city”.

Marian Puig went on to say that “SEAT’s integration is a major benefit to the association, as the company has been and will continue to be one of the city’s greatest assets. Their joining Barcelona Global is a milestone for us, as SEAT stands for industrial tradition, excellence and quality in production, global vision, constant innovation, talent and Mediterranean lifestyle – a combination of values and facts that certainly point towards a successful future”.

Following the meeting, the board members toured the SEAT factory, where 2,100 cars are manufactured daily. They had the opportunity to discover first-hand the manufacturing details of SEAT’s two main pillars, the Leon and the Ibiza, which this year is celebrating its 30th anniversary as well as a sales performance of over 5 million units manufactured and marketed globally. Their next stop was the SEAT Technical Centre, an exceptionally unique facility in Spain where the brand designs and develops the vehicles they sell in over 75 countries.
