When was SEAT created?
The Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo, S.A. is founded on May 9th 1950, with the aim of motorising Spain. SEAT is the Volkswagen Group’s second oldest brand after AUDI (Volkswagen Group member since 1986) and was the first non-German brand to join the Group.
Nowadays, SEAT is the only company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets cars in Spain. The multinational has its headquarters in Martorell (Barcelona), exporting 81% of its vehicles, and is present in over 80 countries through a network of 1,700 dealerships.
