SEAT Environmental Policy Statement

The SEAT Group develops, produces and sells motor vehicles and mobility services worldwide. Our identity is: we want to be a leading global provider of sustainable mobility and a role model for the protection of our environment.

We are addressing the challenges posed by climate change. We are committed to the Paris Agreement and align our activities with the 1.5 degree target. We are aware of our global responsibility and the environmental and social impacts associated with our actions and our products. We use our capacity for innovation and development to reduce our environmental footprint. We address the associated challenges throughout the entire lifecycle of our mobility solutions. Our innovations help our customers reduce their own environmental footprint in terms of mobility, while helping to maintain our business competitiveness and safeguard jobs.

Compliance is a core value of our company, certifying through independent standards, and placing special emphasis on the environmental and energy management associated with our products and services throughout their life cycle.

Guided by our "Environmental Mission Statement", the SEAT Group is committed to the following requirements:

1. Leadership

Top management acts as a role model for environmental protection and they take this approach into account in their business decisions.

Our leaders at all organisational levels, in all the brands and companies of the SEAT Group are aware of the environmental risks arising from their business activities. Both in their actions and in their words, they reinforce their commitment to conduct that complies with both the law and the voluntary commitments acquired by the company, and to be a role model in terms of environmental protection and efficient energy management. They are responsible for ensuring that the requirements outlined in this Policy Statement are implemented and met in their area of responsibility. Our leaders ensure that all staff are informed, properly trained and accountable for the tasks assigned to them. In their area of responsibility, they create a suitable framework in which employees and business partners can communicate openly and without fear of the negative consequences of particularly sensitive environmental issues.

2. Compliance

We know and comply with our environmental commitments.

We comply with environmental and energy legal requirements as well as voluntary commitments, and are guided by our company's independent and objective standards. We provide the resources necessary to meet our goals. Our Environmental Compliance Management System (ECMS) ensures that environmental aspects and obligations are recognised within our business activities and given due consideration, especially throughout our supply chain. Environmental misconduct and intentional non-compliance or fraud are treated in accordance with our organizational guidelines as violations of the rules. Compliance with this Policy Statement and the Group's environmental requirements will be assessed annually and reported to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the SEAT Group.

3. Environmental protection

We reduce the negative environmental impact of our activities and services.

We follow a life-cycle approach to mitigate environmental and energy risks and seize opportunities to protect our environment. These include, for example, the integration of renewable energy, decarbonisation, sustainable supply chains, and energy and resource efficiency. We reduce our environmental impact throughout the entire life cycle of our activities, products and services to protect the environment and people. As evidence of meeting our goals, we annually disclose key environmental figures and transparently report on the progress of our efforts.

4. Stakeholder collaboration

We engage in open dialogues with various stakeholders and work together constructively at all levels.

The involvement of our staff, customers, suppliers, legislators, authorities, our facility neighbourhood and other stakeholders is important to us. We want to improve our understanding of your environmental and energy management expectations and requirements. We provide transparent and reliable information in our reports and in our communication with stakeholders.

5. Continuous improvement

We identify opportunities for environmental improvement and strive to implement them sustainably.

As part of our commitment to continuously reduce the environmental impact of our products, services, activities and production facilities and thereby improve our environmental and energy performance, we have implemented an internationally recognised and independently certified Environmental Compliance Management System (ECMS), subject to a continuous improvement process. We have a global network of experts in our centres to identify and transfer good practices in technology, environmental and energy management. We aspire to play a leading role in emerging environmental developments in science and technology. We work to achieve our goals and exceed the expectations placed on us.
