Sustainability at SEAT

SEAT integrates sustainability, innovation, and community engagement into its operations, driving responsible mobility and ethical business practices while reducing its environmental footprint.


OUR COMMITMENT

We focus on reducing environmental impact while promoting ethical business practices, community initiatives and responsible economic growth. SEAT is dedicated to shaping a future where mobility is sustainable, accessible and environmentally responsible. Through strategic initiatives and partnerships, we are reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing sustainability across our operations.

  • Carbon-Neutral Production – SEAT aims to achieve net-carbon-neutral production at its facilities by 2040.
  • Renewable Energy Integration – Since 2012, all electricity consumed in SEAT’s production facilities has been sourced from 100% renewable energy
  • Resource Efficiency – Since 2010, SEAT has reduced its environmental impact by 57%, including a 75% reduction in CO₂ emissions.
  • Sustainable Mobility – SEAT actively collaborates with local governments and stakeholders to promote sustainable mobility solutions.


ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

SEAT has cut CO₂ emissions at its facilities by 75% since 2010, with a goal of achieving net-carbon-neutral production by 2040. SEAT has reduced water consumption per vehicle produced by 55% since 2010 by optimising processes and promoting recirculation.The SEAT al Sol project, one of the largest photovoltaic energy installations in the industry, will expand with 39,000 new solar panels by 2026, tripling SEAT’s renewable energy self-generation capacity.

SEAT is actively working on reducing waste and integrating sustainable materials into its vehicle production processes. SEAT is also committed to the circular economy by integrating recycled and renewable materials into vehicle production, aiming for 40% circular content by 2040, and driving innovation through second-life applications and advanced recycling technologies.


SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

We believe in contributing to the well-being of society through community engagement and corporate initiatives.

A new chapter in our commitment to society began with the launch of the SEAT CUPRA Foundation in 2025.The Foundation will be dedicated to unlocking the potential of young people while fostering a more dynamic and equitable society. Built on three core pillars—Next Generation, Health, and Social Legacy—it will aim to drive meaningful impact.

At SEAT, employees' physical and mental well-being is a top priority. SEAT provides comprehensive health and wellness support, including access to the SEAT Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

At SEAT, ethical business practices are a fundamental part of our corporate values. We ensure that our operations align with responsible governance, fair labour policies and sustainability objectives. SEAT adheres to Volkswagen Group’s global Code of Conduct, which sets ethical standards across the company and its supply chain.

SEAT upholds strict labour standards to ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and diversity in the workplace. SEAT works with suppliers who adhere to ethical and environmental guidelines in material sourcing and production. SEAT maintains an Environmental Compliance Management System to ensure adherence to sustainability regulations and best practices.
