Plastics

Plastics are assuming an increasingly important role in car construction. The different characteristics of modern plastics make their use possible in almost all areas of the car. Because of their light weight plastics effectively contribute to reducing car weight and thus improving fuel economy.

Plastic parts are resistant to corrosion and mechanical influences such as stone chipping. In addition, they are significantly easier to repair than metal. Thanks to their reversible behaviour, they are generally not deformed permanently as a result of small knocks.

Since plastic is a valuable raw material, SEAT marks the individual parts so that after a long service life they can be sorted, processed and can be used to produce new parts. In addition, to further avoid negative effects on the environment, SEAT makes use of a significant proportion of recycled materials in new car production.
