The disc brake is a very stable and efficient mechanism. It is clasped by the calliper which in turn holds the brake pads. The temperature of a disk brake may rise as high as 500°C, but its tendency to fade is still low. For better cooling, the front discs are usually ventilated. With high-performance cars, flow-optimised wheels may facilitate the cooling function.
Ventilated disc brakes are easy to apply, guarantee a safe reduction of speed and can thus avoid accidents or reduce the consequences of accidents. Even after many braking cycles, effectiveness is ensured by the internal ventilation.
